About the Retreat

We spend all our time and energy trying to avoid problems by making changes to our external world. However, our unhappiness and difficulties are not caused by the external world but are the result of the negative karma we have created in the past through our own harmful actions.

In this special meditation practice, by relying on Vajrasattva, the Buddha of Purification, we have a great opportunity to purify our mind of this accumulated negativity which gives rise to suffering, and obstructs our spiritual progress.
Then we can experience the peace and happiness of a clear, pure mind and swiftly make progress on our spiritual journey.

The retreat will start with an introduction explaining who is Vajrasattva, why we need to purify, and how to engage in the practice.

This will be followed by three retreat sessions on each day, each session including a short talk, prayers, guided meditation and time to engage in the main body of this practise – vajrasattva mantra recitation

You are welcome to attend the whole retreat, or as few or many sessions as you wish.

The retreat will conclude with a special food offering ceremony (Offering to the Spiritual Guide with tsog) which is open to everyone.

You are welcome to attend the whole retreat, or as few or many sessions as you wish.

Everyone welcome, though some prior experience of Buddhist meditation would be beneficial.
