Meditations On Loving Kindness

Half-Day Retreat

Saturday 11th October, 10:30am-1pm

This relaxing half-day retreat will introduce the Buddhist meditations on Loving Kindness.

Normally we see some people as important and worthy of our love, others as the cause of our problems, and most simply as strangers, according to how we relate to them. Through these beautiful meditations we can begin to broaden our love to more and more people, developing Cherishing Love – considering all living beings to be precious and holding them dear.
This mind of cherishing love is the perfect protection from suffering and inner problems, and enables us to remain calm and peaceful all the time.

“The path to enlightenment is really very simple – all we need to do is stop cherishing ourself and learn to cherish others. All other spiritual realisations will naturally follow from this”
Eight Steps to Happiness, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

What Is Samsara?

Weekend Retreat

Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th October 2025

Understanding what samsara is, how it arises and how it influences our experiences in life, good and bad, we can start to develop helpful and positive starts of mind to overcome the problems of this life.

If we are suffering problems, chances are we in samsara. Samsara is not a place, a person or object “out there”, rather it is what Buddha called this state of existence where we have unhelpful and unhappy states of mind and a body which causes problems and suffering. Basically, when our mind is in samsara we’re suffering, one way or another. Even when we’re happy, we often think we are not as happy as we could be.

This is not bad news though! Once we understand samsara, we can put into practice the proven methods to over the problems and suffering we experience. By training our mind through these practical teachings and meditations, we can live a life without suffering and problems. We just need to know what to do and how to do it.

This day course, will explain all of this and enable us to take a new understanding of life and the tools to deal with its woes, with us into our daily lives, to create a happy, freer life.

Purification Weekend Retreat

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December 2025

Schedule details to follow soon.

This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to learn to rely on Vajrasattva, the Buddha of purification, and practice a special meditation to free ourselves from all of our negative karma.

We spend all our time and energy trying to avoid problems by making changes to our external world. However, our unhappiness and difficulties are not caused by the external world but are the result of the negative karma we have created in the past through our own harmful actions.

By relying on Vajrasattva, all our experiences will be positive, we will have a peaceful, pure mind and will easily remove obstacles to our spiritual development.

Attend all, or as few or many of the sessions as you wish.
